[Somehow, the empty room frightens her more than a bed of coals or a grim-faced council of judges would. What will happen in here? Will she be forced to see visions of the past and future again, as in the labyrinth?

Her pride is still too strong to allow her to hesitate for more than a moment in crossing the threshold--wondering even then if she's suddenly going to feel a sword in her back or step on a trapdoor to some oubliette. Having escaped death and lived a normal life for almost a year, she finds herself reluctant to put it on the block.

But there is no other way forward. She has been waiting for this moment for months--at least she will no longer have to wonder. So she walks to the center of the room, head held high.]

I am here to face your accusation.

[Ethlyn won't remember much after Jerry closes the door and the room goes dark. She may remember feeling judged, and voices from people she can't remember the faces of. She doesn't remember much, but she does remember the most important part:]

You, who have committed the crime of the Granvale empire have come to stand before us to atone for your crime. To show commitment to rehabilitation, we have a request:

We ask that you reflect on the events of your home world and consider your responsibility in them. Reflect with someone you may be close to, you who have done great good for Aldrip, on whether you must bear the responsibilities for a whole nation.

You have until November 10th to finish our task. If you complete it, you will be one step closer to returning home.


[When Ethlyn becomes aware again, she's outside of City Hall, without Jerry as an escort. The paper with her crime on it will be updated to reflect this task.]

[ooc: The longer that Ethlyn takes to complete this task, the more truthful and thoughtful of said crime she'll become. She may begin to find that the crime is all she can think about until she confides in someone about it.
